Due to exciting business growth, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for a diligent and motivated SWIFT Payments Officer to join a leading Fintech Payments company in the heart of London. We are seeking candidates with strong payment processing experience, including SWIFT, BACS, CHAPS and Faster Payments. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative and supportive team, and be part of one of the most exciting Fintechs in the city! Please note, this role is 5 days in the office
Duties of the SWIFT Payments Officer to include:
- Approve and execute international and domestic payment transactions.
- Send and receive messages via SWIFT Alliance, utilizing MT and MX formats.
- Book transactions through SWIFT, CHAPS, Direct Debit, and Faster Payments (FP) using both API and standard formats.
- Handle Foreign Exchange (FX) transactions.
- Process transactions from the trade platform.
- Verify payment details, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies and issues promptly and efficiently.
- Manage and approve daily settlement of high-volume transactions.
- Oversee treasury operations related to FX.
- Ensure strict adherence to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance by verifying transactions.
- Check sanctions lists and collaborate with the Compliance Department.
- Conduct preliminary screening of senders, recipients, and related banks.
- Maintain and update country sanctions lists.
Requirements for the successful SWIFT Payments Officer:
- Previous processing experience with SWIFT, BACS, CHAPS and Faster payments is essential
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing payments.
- Previous experience within the banking or financial services sector, including in a fintech or EMI.
- Excellent communication skills
