We are looking to hire a full time or part time qualified dental nurse at a private dental practice in N8,Hornsey London

Job Descriptions and Duties:

  • Perform high quality dental nursing whilst assisting each dentist, hygienist or therapist in all procedures in a safe and effective manner
  • Provide chair side assistance to dentist by passing instruments, mixing filling materials, suctioning
  • Set-up and prepare the treatment room appropriately for each patient
  • Prepare the necessary materials and instruments, making sure that equipment and instruments are in good working order and maintained regularly in accordance with practice policy
  • Work in decontamination room sterilising instruments and packaging ready for re use.
  • Follow the practice procedures for infection prevention and control
  • Segregate waste in accordance with the practice procedures and ensure its safe disposal
  • Assist in taking radiographs according to your level of training
  • Process, mount and file dental radiographs
  • Maintain and decontaminate equipment in accordance with manufacturers instructions and your training
  • Assist with reception duties and perform other clerical duties if required
  • Maintain professional indemnity and registration with the GDC
  • Undertake CPD in line with the GDC guidelines
  • Establish, promote and maintain productive working relationships with all members of the dental team
  • Use dental computer system to maintain patient records
  • Maintain patient confidentiality

Essential Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Experience in working with some or all dental specialists: Implantologist, Periodontist, Endodontist, Orthodontist
  • GDC registration
  • Experience/Qualification in taking CBCT and intra oral scanners is an advantage
  • Local to the area would be an advantage
