A brilliant media business we work with is looking for a maternity cover for one of my all time favourite client contacts! She is a brilliant Global Head of Commercial Content, with a fantastic understanding of the media and events industries. A content guru who has incredibly delivery experience and her maternity Cover needs to be all of those things to. You must have the full right to work in the UK to work in this role.

Role Background:

The mission of this organisation is to foster B2B connections within the global gaming industry, enabling partnerships, idea sharing, inspiration, and mutual support. With a strong foundation in flagship events and industry-leading online news communities, the company aims to leverage digital media to engage and support readers and partners, while continually attracting, converting, and retaining new audiences within a fast-paced industry.

The company is the leading B2B digital media hub in the gaming and gambling sector, with a presence in Europe and North America, and ambitious plans for global expansion. After recent acquisitions and investments, the company is rolling out a cutting-edge content marketing strategy to meet the diverse needs of its business audiences. This includes free industry news, premium content, and exclusive subscription and membership products.

As the organisation transitions from a digital start-up to a more established digital media hub, the focus is shifting towards delivering high-value, objectives-based multimedia campaigns that increase customer lifetime value. The Global Head of Commercial Content will lead the B2B commercial content strategy, developing multimedia products and driving innovation across global markets, including Europe, the US, and Latin America. The role will elevate the content function, optimise product offerings, and expand the company's reach into new regions.

The position will also involve managing the commercial content team, collaborating closely with other departments such as Activation, Marketing, and Sales, and working alongside the editorial team to ensure seamless delivery of partner marketing campaigns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the global commercial content strategy, developing multimedia products and optimising content marketing solutions to meet the objectives of marketing partners.
  • Work with the editorial team to ensure commercial content aligns with the overall editorial content strategy.
  • Oversee content production, managing both internal teams and external agencies to ensure timely delivery of high-quality multimedia content.
  • Supervise the content team to ensure the timely execution of day-to-day content products for customers.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Activation to design and implement top-tier strategies and content for B2B marketing partners, ensuring alignment with their business goals.
  • Monitor the performance of commercial content to ensure it meets the appropriate audience fit and achieves customer goals.
  • Develop operational plans to meet revenue targets, forecast resource needs, and establish processes and workflows.
  • Build strong industry relationships, positioning the company as a go-to partner for thought leadership, media distribution, and reputation-building content.
  • Participate in meetings with customers and stakeholders as required.

Success Metrics:

  • Deliver the commercial content pipeline on time and within budget, managing seasonal workloads effectively.
  • Provide strategic guidance to marketing partners on the best content solutions to meet their business objectives.
  • Develop new and innovative content products that meet client needs and drive business growth.
  • Efficiently manage the content team to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality content marketing campaigns.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with industry stakeholders, bolstering the company's reputation in commercial content.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience in content strategy and development, with a history of delivering innovative commercial content solutions in multiple formats (including video).
  • A solid understanding of the B2B space, ideally within gaming and tech, with strong business acumen and a passion for content marketing.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong copywriting and editing skills, with the ability to turn data and facts into engaging narratives.
  • Prior experience in the gaming or gambling industry is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience building and scaling content functions.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with key industry stakeholders.
  • A data-driven approach to content strategy, focusing on achieving measurable business results.
