We are partnering exclusively with an SME bank based in central London. The challenger bank are looking to hire a Marketing Lead as their first marketing appointment. This is an exciting opportunity to build out and implement the marketing strategy for the business.

Client Details

The bank are an established private bank who are looking to launch a digital banking proposition into a target market. They are looking to hire a Marketing Lead into the business - this role will be responsible for defining and rolling out a marketing strategy focused on acquisition engagement and retention of customers.

Description

Key responsibilities:

Strategic Marketing:

  • Develop and implement a cohesive marketing strategy for the retail banking proposition, ensuring alignment with the broader business objectives.
  • Build a new brand identity for the Digital Retail Banking proposition to achieve the dual goals of speaking to a new target market whilst sitting alongside the core brand in a complementary way.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Retail Banking Officer and Head of CRM to integrate marketing efforts into the overarching customer acquisition and engagement strategy.

Go-To-Market:

  • Define and execute go-to-market strategies to support the launch and scale of the retail banking proposition.
  • Leverage external agencies for campaign execution while maintaining strategic oversight and alignment.
  • Develop content and PR strategies to engage key audiences across channels, including social media, events, and press.

Support for Proposition Development:

  • Provide input and insights to the Chief Retail Banking Officer (CRBO) for proposition development, including branding, customer segmentation, and market positioning.
  • Ensure marketing activities align with the MVP and product roadmaps defined by the CRBO.

Strategy and Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with the CRBO and Head of CRM to ensure data-driven strategies support client acquisition and retention goals.
  • Foster relationships with external partners, agencies, and vendors to deliver impactful campaigns.

Act as a mentor and role-model within the marketing team, supporting team development and fostering a culture of collaboration.

Compliance:

  • Comply with the Bank's Conduct rules, as prescribed by the PRA and FCA including the most recent sixth conduct rule; "you must act to deliver good outcomes for retail customers."
  • Maintain 'Fit & Proper' status required to fulfil role as a Senior Manager/Certification employee (if relevant.)

Profile

The successful candidate for the Marketing Lead role:

Experience & Expertise:

  • Proven track record in senior marketing roles, preferably in digital banking, fintech, or consumer-centric retail businesses.
  • Experience in customer acquisition strategies and digital marketing.
  • Familiarity with leveraging CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) for targeted marketing and personalisation.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong strategic thinking and the ability to translate vision into actionable marketing initiatives.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills, with experience working cross-functionally.
  • Data-driven approach with proficiency in leveraging insights to inform our marketing strategies.

Will have worked in financial services or FinTech.
