SERVICE CHARGE OFFICERS

One of the largest housing associations is looking for temporary Service Charge Officers.

* Temporary role
* Reports to: Rent and Service Charge Manager
* Availability: to start immediately
* Location: Camden or Boremwood (HYBRID WORKING)
* Must be available to start immediately


Main Purpose of Job: To provide excellent customer service to all residents by ensuring service charges are budgeted and charged fairly in accordance with legislation and agreements.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Service Charge Estimates:
* Set annual service charge estimates for all existing stock, complying with tenancy agreements and leases.
* Ensure estimates adhere to current legislation.
2. Reconciliation and Reporting:
* Regularly reconcile scheme accounts on the finance system, identifying discrepancies.
* Provide reports to relevant departments for investigation and resolution.
3. Auditing and Compliance:
* Assist in liaising with external auditors to resolve queries related to year-end accounts.
* Monitor the financial performance of managing agents, ensuring compliance with leases and agreements.
4. Customer Service:
* Investigate and respond to service-related complaints and queries from customers within set timescales.
* Provide advice and support to produce accurate service charge estimates for new schemes.
5. Legal and Legislative Compliance:
* Attend training to stay updated with current legislation related to service charging.
* Represent the organization at tribunal hearings and resident meetings.
Experience:
* Experience in service charge accounting within the housing sector.
