Director of Regulatory Reporting and AssuranceMiddlemore have been retained with a well-known utilities firm in the south who are seeking a Director of Regulatory Reporting and Assurance following internal succession planning.About the Role:Our client is looking for a Director of Regulatory Reporting and Assurance to drive their compliance initiatives and ensure the highest standards of regulatory adherence. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of their regulatory strategy and make a significant impact in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.Main focus areas of the role:The role will focus primarily on External Reporting, Assurance Strategy,Internal Governance as well as managing the relationship with all regulators.
  • You will develop and implement processes to assure price review and any submissions to regulators, including analysis and materials supporting board assurance statements, assurance of data table submissions and any other assurance requirements
  • You will play a key role in price controls and regulatory framework, being accountable for the development and delivery of the process to ensure data they provide to the regulators, including data tables, board assurance statements and other external requirements, including third-party assurance as appropriate.
  • You will also develop and deliver presentations to the exec teams and board and manage senior level regulators to shape their requirements and expectations concerning reporting and assurance. This will include in particular supporting the Chief Risk Officer in providing information to the Monitor about the groups delivery and performance and its improvement plans.
  • You'll be responsible for leading critical regulatory reporting, whilst shaping industry-wide regulatory practices and stakeholder relationships. You'll also be managing complex assurance processes for multi-billion-pound investment plans and be comfortable presenting and influencing to board-level executives and senior regulators.
About you:
  • You'll need to have a background in a highly regulated industry, with a good balance of technical competence and leadership capability in the above areas.
  • Successful track record of building and delivering complex, high-profile company-wide programmes to challenging deadlines.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills at a senior level, with the ability to navigate complex external environments and large organisations and different interests.
  • Proven track record in promoting successful collaborative working and delivering through others, including delivering outside the line and building consensus in the face of competing interests.
  • Excellent influencing and advocacy skills, appropriate to different audiences and levels, including credibility in recommending action at the executive and board levels and with key external stakeholders.
