Our team is growing, and we are seeking a highly skilled Shift Engineer with HVAP (High Voltage Authorised Person) certification to join our dynamic workforce.
Job Summary:
As a Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining the efficient operation of critical infrastructure, including electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems. Your expertise in high-voltage systems and adherence to safety protocols will be pivotal in minimising downtime and ensuring operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems, including high-voltage (HV) equipment.
Conduct routine inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance on electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems.
Respond to and resolve equipment faults and alarms promptly to maintain up time.
Perform HV switching operations as required, in accordance with safety procedures.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, incidents, and energy usage.
Collaborate with contractors and vendors for specialised repairs and system upgrades.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies, including HVAP-specific protocols.
Provide detailed handovers to incoming shift engineers and supervisors.
Qualifications and Requirements:
HVAP (High Voltage Authorised Person) certification is mandatory.
Proven experience as a shift engineer or similar role in a critical environment (e.g., data centres, hospitals, industrial plants).
Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Relevant qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent in electrical or mechanical engineering).
