We are seeking a skilled and proactive CAD Designer to join a high-end, architectural façade product specialist in North-West London.This is an exciting opportunity for a CAD Designer, CAD Technician, or Architectural Technician interested in developing a career in façade design, with potential for career advancement within their design department.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing quality rainscreen façade details, elevations, and plans and with the ability to lead the design of a project or a team. The role demands strong technical skills for using AutoCAD.

CAD Designer Job Overview
  • Drawing Production: Create detailed façade drawings including wall and plan sections, elevation layouts and annotated 1:5 scale details.
  • Detailing & Layouts: Produce comprehensive layouts and details for rainscreen façades, ensuring accurate placement of components such as cavity/fire barriers, helping hand brackets, rails, and panels.
  • Documentation: Prepare and organise technical submittals, ensuring all documentation aligns with project requirements.
  • Coordination: Proactively liaise with architects, consultants, and other project stakeholders, retrieving and reviewing relevant architectural drawings through document portals (e.g., 4P, Asite, Dochosting).
  • RFI Management: Raise RFIs as required and communicate efficiently with the Design Manager and clients, ensuring queries are resolved promptly and professionally.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the façade design team and contribute to a respectful, collaborative office environment.
CAD Designer Job Requirements
  • Education: Qualification in Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering, CAD or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a CAD design role within architecture, construction, or a related industry.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential, with experience creating detailed drawings for architectural projects.
  • Knowledge of rainscreen façade systems is advantageous.
  • Document Management: Prior experience using document portals (4P, Asite, Dochosting, etc.) to retrieve and manage project documents.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of precision in drawing annotation, dimensioning, and adherence to technical standards.
  • Multi-Project Management: Ability to handle multiple projects and meet defined deadlines, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and workload management.
