Permanent Nursery PractitionerWe are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join our team working in Islington. The successful candidate will need to be flexible and able to work at both locations, while holding a Childcare and Education qualification equivalent to NVQ Level 3.Role Details:
  • Hours: Full-time, term-time only (35 weeks per year)
  • Working Hours: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM or 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM – applicants must be available for both shift patterns
  • Salary: £27,452 per annum (pro-rata for term-time only!)
Key Duties and Responsibilities:Supporting Child Development:
  • Plan, organise, deliver, and evaluate engaging activities and learning experiences for children within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), in partnership with parents.
  • Observe and support children’s overall development, ensuring each child reaches their full potential.
  • Serve as a key person, updating and extending children's learning journeys through observations, assessments, and activity planning, in collaboration with the nursery's Early Years Professional.
  • Foster positive relationships with children and their families while fulfilling all key person responsibilities.
  • Use the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum to plan appropriately for each child’s development.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of children’s individual needs, abilities, and progress, using this information as a foundation for future planning.
  • Stay informed of the latest child development trends and the Early Years Curriculum to ensure high standards of care and learning.
Collaboration and Professional Development:
  • Attend staff meetings, planning sessions, and relevant training events to further personal development and contribute to the team.
  • Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with EYFS advisory teachers, area SENCOs, and other agencies involved in supporting the nursery.
About You:
  • NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education (or equivalent)
  • Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with children, families, and staff
  • A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development
