Job OverviewA well-established school in North London is seeking an outstanding Reception Class Teacher to join their team on a maternity cover contract. This school is undergoing an exciting phase of development, with new facilities enhancing opportunities for outdoor play, sport, and specialist teaching. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated Reception Teacher who is passionate about early childhood education and is skilled in supporting the academic and personal development of young learners.

Key ResponsibilitiesThe Reception Teacher will be expected to:

  • Deliver the EYFS curriculum, ensuring high-quality lessons in line with the school's timetable.
  • Develop and oversee schemes of work, as well as termly and weekly lesson plans, in alignment with the school's ISEB syllabus.
  • Collaborate closely with the Head of Year and other teachers to ensure consistency across the curriculum.
  • Regularly review and adapt teaching methods in response to updates within the EYFS framework and feedback from assessments.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Knowledge of the UK EYFS curriculum.
  • Proven track record as a successful teacher.
  • Experience in supporting children of diverse abilities to achieve excellent progress.

Desirable

  • Familiarity with curriculum development.
  • Experience with the Read Write Inc phonics program is a plus.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong background in phonics delivery, ideally with Read Write Inc experience.
  • Proficiency in IT, including Office 365.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
