Exceptional Opportunity:?SANZA Teaching Agency are currently working with a delightful, 2-form entry primary school in Ealing who are seeking a teaching assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a girl in year 1.

The student has a diagnosis of Autism (ASD) and has limited speech, but is developing

The school is located in Acton, with great transport links (District Line and Overground).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual support to the pupil with Autism (ASD) ensuring their safety and well-being
  • Help implement and follow the child's Individual Education Plan (IEP) and behaviour management strategies
  • Facilitate the child's communication and language development through alternative communication methods
  • Collaborate closely with the class teacher and the SENCO to plan and adapt activities to meet the pupil's specific needs
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for the pupil, promoting their social integration with peers
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with parents, providing regular feedback on the child's progress

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience supporting children with Autism (ASD) or similar special educational needs
  • Understanding of pre-verbal communication methods and strategies
  • Knowledge with challenging behaviour, including behaviour management techniques and the ability to adapt them to meet individual needs
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents
