ADHD Teaching Assistant | Secondary SEN School | East London

A Primary School in Lewisham South East London are searching for an ADHD Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a child in Year 8 with ADHD(On the mild side of the spectrum). As an ADHD TA you will be supporting a year 8 child who has moderate ADHD, meaning he is capable at functioning at a high level but he does need additional support with behaviour and concentration.

  • Rate: £95 - £105 per day (paid weekly).

The ideal candidate:

  • Experience working with students with behavioural challenges, preferably in an educational or special education setting.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques, positive reinforcement strategies, and de-escalation methods.
  • Ability to establish rapport and build positive relationships with students, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.

Requirement:

  • Must have some recent SEN Experience
  • Candidates must have a valid DBS certificate on the update service (Not mandatory as we can provide one)
  • Some knowledge of strategies in working with young people with behavioural problems
  • Basic knowledge of SEND and learning barriers.
  • Safeguarding experience
