ASD/ADHD Teaching Assistant | Long Term| Complex Needs

We are seeking a devoting ASD/ADHD Teaching Assistant to join one of our most flourishing schools in south east London. As a ASD/ADHD Teaching Assistant we require you to support children diagnosed with ASD and ADHD within a Secondary School setting.

The school has strong supporting team who strives to be the best in every aspect of education, facilitating a network of dedicated staff who want to make a difference to young pupils future.

Role: ASD/ADHD Teaching Assistant

Start: ASAP

Contract: Full time

Location: Southwark, South East London

School Type: Secondary

Rate: £95-105 per day

Ideal Candidate:

  • Assisting in the development of appropriate resources, schemes of work and teaching strategies.
  • Extensive SLD/ASD/PMLD & Complex needs experience preferably.
  • Supervising and supporting a classroom in a group setting.
  • Supporting with behaviour management.
  • Undertaking structured and agreed learning activities/teaching programmes, adjusting activities to ensure achievement of learning goals.
  • Establishing good relationships with children, acting as a role model.
  • Promoting the inclusion and acceptance of all children, supporting difference and ensuring that all have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.

Requirements:

  • Basic knowledge of SEND and learning barriers.
  • Some knowledge of strategies in working with young people with challenging behaviours.
  • Safeguarding experience.
  • Experience of working directly with young people in an education or training environment, supporting the learning of students.
