Are you looking to be an ASD Teaching Assistant on Long Term Contract?

Are you looking to work in a brand-new SEN Secondary school?

We are looking for multiple ASD Teaching Assistant to join one our biggest Secondary SEN schools in South East London. As an ASD Teaching Assistant, you will be delivering the best support to students aged 11-16. We would require you to have strong ASD experience as most of the students have mild SEN and are working at a high level. The key aspect of this role is cohering to the behaviour de-escalation methods and promoting positive reinforcement strategies. We want your work to have a positive impact on the school's reputation and success. This role is very severe complex needs ASD, so there will be some personal care involved. Some students are wheelchair bound or non-verbal.

The ideal candidate:

  • Experience working with students with behavioural challenges, preferably in an educational or special education setting.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques, positive reinforcement strategies, and de-escalation methods.
  • Ability to establish rapport and build positive relationships with students, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.

Requirement:

  • Must have relevant SEN Experience
  • Candidates must have a valid DBS certificate on the update service (Not mandatory as we can provide one)
  • Some knowledge of strategies in working with young people with challenging behaviours
  • Basic knowledge of SEND and learning barriers.
  • Safeguarding experience
