Are you looking to take on a new Autism Teaching Assistant Position?

Are you looking to be an Autism Teaching Assistant on Long Term Contract?

Are you looking to work in a brand new secondary school?

We are looking for multiple Autism Specialist TA's to join one our biggest SEN schools in South East London. You will be delivering the best support to students aged 11-16. We would require you to have strong Autism experience as most of the students have mild SEN and are working at a high level. The key aspect of this role is cohering to the behaviour de-escalation methods and promoting positive reinforcement strategies. We want your work to make a positive impact to the schools reputation and success.

The ideal candidate:

  • Experience working with students with behavioural challenges, preferably in an educational or special education setting.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques, positive reinforcement strategies, and de-escalation methods.
  • Ability to establish rapport and build positive relationships with students, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations

Requirement:

  • Must have strong SEN Experience
  • Candidates must have a valid DBS certificate on the update service (Not mandatory as we can provide one)
  • Some knowledge of strategies in working with young people with challenging behaviours
  • CACHE Level 2 qualification or above.
  • Basic knowledge of SEND and learning barriers.
  • Safeguarding experience
