Remedy Education are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant that has supported within a setting for students that have profound and multiple learning difficulties. Alternatively, Support workers or support workers who can support these students.

You will be supporting children aged 11 - 16 with a number of additional needs, often classed as complex. In addition to their learning difficulties, students in this base have multiple medical needs too including epilepsy, breathing difficulties and tube feeding etc. Students have difficulty communicating and are non-verbal, therefore alternative communication is used. The learning development is at sensory stage and personal care is required. Remedy Education is looking for a dedicated and caring individual who can support children on a 1:1 basis or within small groups.

Located in Lewisham, the school has great transport links.

The position is open to all experienced Teaching Assistants and support workers who have some experience in a similar role. Depending on performance the school would look at either extending the contract or offering a permanent position.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in a similar setting
  • LEVEL 2 Teaching Assistant/or equivalent and above is preferable
  • GCSE Maths and English and Computer literate
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH REMEDY, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references that cover at least the last two years
