Early Years Teaching Assistant - Haringey

About the Role:An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive primary school in Haringey. The successful candidate will support the delivery of high-quality education for young learners in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). This is a fantastic opportunity for those looking to make a meaningful impact on the learning and development of young children. As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in fostering an engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and interactive lessons
  • Assist in the development of a safe, stimulating, and nurturing classroom environment with the support
  • Work with individual children or small groups to support their learning and development, acting as an Early Years Teaching Assistant
  • Observe and assess children’s progress, providing feedback to the teacher as an Early Years Teaching Assistant
  • Help with general classroom management and ensuring the wellbeing of the children
  • Encourage positive behaviour and promote the values of the school in your capacity as an Early Years Teaching Assistant
  • Support the social, emotional, and physical needs of children

Person Specification:

  • Experience working with children in an Early Years setting is desirable for an Early Years Teaching Assistant
  • A passion for working with young children and supporting their development
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals as an Early Years Teaching Assistant
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to work is important for the role of Early Years Teaching Assistant
  • A relevant childcare qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2 or 3 in Childcare) would be an advantage but not essential for an Early Years Teaching Assistant
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
