SANZA Teaching Agency is working in partnership with a well-regarded, two-form entry primary school in the London Borough of Islington, seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND Early Years Teaching Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual passionate about early childhood education, who thrives in a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

Role Overview:
  • Supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), with a primary focus on Reception.
  • Providing tailored interventions and one-to-one or small group support, ensuring all children can access learning effectively.
  • Encouraging language development, social interaction, and emotional regulation through structured play and learning activities.
  • Collaborating with the class teacher, SENCO, and external specialists to implement individual learning plans (ILPs) and support strategies.
  • Supporting children in developing their fine and gross motor skills, promoting independence and self-care.
  • Assisting with personal care duties, including nappy changing and toileting support, when required.
  • Creating a stimulating, inclusive, and engaging learning environment, in line with the EYFS curriculum and best practices.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Experience supporting children with SEND in a primary school or early years setting.
  • A strong understanding of child development, early years education, and the EYFS curriculum.
  • Confidence in adapting learning activities to suit individual needs, fostering progress in communication, social skills, and cognitive development.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with young children, providing a nurturing and supportive presence in the classroom.
  • Willingness to assist with personal care needs, ensuring the comfort and dignity of the children in their care.
  • A team-oriented approach, working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to deliver the best outcomes for pupils.
