The EYFS Teaching Assistant JobWe are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate EYFS Teaching Assistant to work with young students with various needs ranging from mild to complex. You will provide one-on-one support, helping students engage with their learning and develop independence through a play based, sensory location. If you have patience, creativity, and a desire to make a real impact in the lives of these pupils, we would love to hear from you!

The EYFS Teaching Assistant Responsibilities

  • Work with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils
  • Promote pupil's independence, self-esteem and social inclusion
  • Give support to pupils, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement
  • Support preperation for the day
  • Promote, support and facilitate inclusion by encouraging participation of all pupils in learning and extracurricular activities
  • Use effective behaviour management strategies consistently in line with the school's policy and procedures
  • Organise and manage teaching space and resources to help maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment
  • Assist with personal care when required with another adult.

The EYFS Teaching Assistant Applicant

The ideal EYFS Teaching Assistant applicant will be have the following qualities:

  • Enjoyment of working with young people
  • Will have experience working with students with with various SEN needs is desired but not essential
  • Experience working with nursery aged students
  • Sensitivity and understanding, to help build good relationships with pupils
  • A commitment to getting the best outcomes for all pupils
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality at all times
  • Commitment to safeguarding pupil's well-being and equality
  • Honest, hardworking, transparent with a willingness to learn and develop
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with pupils and adults
  • The ability to remain calm in stressful situations
