A dynamic and inclusive secondary school in Southwark is looking for a motivated Graduate to join their team as a Graduate Teaching Assistant from October 2024. This role is ideal for aspiring secondary school teachers looking to gain invaluable hands-on experience before starting teacher training.

About the Role:

• Full-time, term-time position starting October 2024.
• Support students across various subjects, both in the classroom and on a 1:1 basis.
• Work closely with the Learning Support Department, providing assistance to students with special educational needs.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure students receive targeted support to enhance their learning.
• Gain exposure to different teaching strategies and classroom management techniques.
• Assist in preparing classroom materials and contribute to extra-curricular activities.

Key Requirements:

• A degree in any discipline (a background in education, psychology, or core subjects is advantageous).
• Some recent experience working with young people (e.g., tutoring, coaching, youth work, or voluntary school work).
• A genuine passion for education and a commitment to helping students reach their full potential.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
• A desire to gain school-based experience in preparation for future teacher training.
