Role Overview:

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will support teachers in delivering high-quality education, work closely with students to promote learning and engagement, and contribute to a positive learning environment. This role will allow you to work with pupils across different subjects and year groups, offering variety and a chance to develop a broad skill set.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assisting teachers in planning and delivering lessons.
  • Providing 1:1 or small group support to students who need additional help.
  • Supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) or English as an additional language (EAL).
  • Helping manage classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Preparing learning resources and activities under teacher guidance.
  • Assisting with administrative tasks such as grading, recording attendance, and setting up classroom materials.
  • Engaging with students to encourage participation and monitor progress.
Requirements:
  • A graduate degree (any subject area).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine passion for working with young people and an interest in education.
  • Previous child-based experience is preferred but not essential.
  • A valid DBS check on the update service is required.
