A popular and inclusive secondary school in Enfield, is seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant to support students with special educational needs (SEN) and learning difficulties. This is a rewarding opportunity for a compassionate and motivated individual who wants to gain valuable experience in education while making a real difference in students' lives.
Key Responsibilities:- Providing in-class support to students with learning difficulties, ensuring they can access the curriculum and make progress
- Working closely with SEN teachers and the SENCO to implement individualised education plans (IEPs)
- Supporting students with tasks such as reading, writing, and comprehension in both group settings and one-to-one sessions
- Assisting with the development of students' social and emotional skills
- Helping to create an inclusive and positive learning environment for all students
- Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teachers and parents
- A recent degree in any discipline (Education, Psychology, or related fields are advantageous)
- A genuine interest in working with students with learning difficulties and a passion for education
- Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a supportive team and take initiative when needed
- Previous experience in a school or working with young people (desirable but not essential)
