We are looking for a dedicated and motivated Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a well-established secondary school in Lewisham. This full-time, long-term role offers you the opportunity to work alongside experienced teachers and support students in their academic journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, helping them with their learning and development.
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons.
  • Support students with additional needs, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
  • Help with classroom management and the general running of lessons.
  • Support students in both academic and pastoral matters.
  • Assist with the preparation and marking of coursework and assessments.

Requirements:

  • Previous child-based experience is preferred but not required.
  • A DBS on the update service is required (or willingness to obtain one).

  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with young people.
  • A positive and proactive approach to learning and problem-solving.
