About the RoleA secondary school in Enfield is looking for dedicated graduates to join as Teaching Assistants. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in education, particularly for those considering a career in teaching. Applicants should have prior experience working with children or young people, whether as a teaching assistant, tutor, support worker, or sports coach. The role involves working closely with the SEN department and supporting teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
Key Responsibilities- Classroom Support: Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students stay engaged and make progress.
- Targeted Student Support: Provide individual and small-group assistance to students with SEN, ensuring they receive the support they need to succeed.
- Resource Management: Help prepare and organise teaching materials to facilitate smooth lesson delivery.
- Student Progress: Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to assessments.
- Extracurricular Involvement: Support clubs, workshops, and school trips, enhancing students' learning experiences beyond the classroom.
- Graduate Background: A degree in a relevant subject such as Maths, Science, English, Law, Humanities, Psychology, Sociology, or Sports is preferred.
- Experience Working with Children: Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Tutor, Sports Coach, Youth Worker, or Support Worker is beneficial.
- Interest in Education: A strong commitment to supporting student learning and development.
- Organisational Skills: Ability to manage tasks effectively and support lesson preparation.
- Effective Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and encourage students.
