We are currently recruiting on behalf of a vibrant Primary School in Kennington, Southwark, for a dedicated and compassionate Nursery Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a child in their Nursery class. This is a part-time role, working from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM, Monday to Friday, and is ideal for someone who enjoys working part time and helping children thrive in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Nursery Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a child in the Nursery, assisting with their daily activities and educational development
  • Assist with classroom routines and activities, helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Build strong relationships with the child, supporting their confidence and independence
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and other staff members to ensure the child's needs are met
  • Observe and report on the child's progress to ensure their learning objectives are being met

Nursery Teaching Assistant Criteria:

  • Experience in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is essential
  • Previous experience working with children with additional needs is highly desirable
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting young learners
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
