Position: Nursery Teaching Assistant
Contract Type: Long Term, full-time for summer term 2025 initially, permanent opportunities available from September 2025 for right candidate.
Pay: £106-£112 per day (dependant upon experience)
Location: Camden - Kings Cross (good access available via public transport)
Start Date: Tues 22nd April 2025
Role Overview:
Spencer Clarke Group are working closely with a fantastic mainstream primary school in the Kings Cross, Camden area who are seeking a passionate and experienced teaching assistant for their Nursery classroom. The role is for the summer term initially, from 22nd April - 22nd July 2025, on a full-time basis.
The school, an Ofsted graded 'Good' school, are looking to add an outstanding practitioner to their team. The ideal candidate will be someone who has a passion for learning, and a track record of delivering improvement in children's learning, particularly within the Early Years.
Key Responsibilities:
- As a Nursery Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping pupils with a range of additional needs within a mainstream nursery setting.
- You will work with pupils aged 3-4 within the Early Years Foundation Stage, supporting a group of pupils with a range of abilities and some additional needs.
- Some 1:1 support will be required at times, so experience of supporting children with SEND in a school or nursery setting would be highly advantageous.
- You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to deliver tailored support, helping pupils develop their communication, social, and independence skills, whilst working alongside the EYFS curriculum.
Requirements:
- Candidates should have GCSEs in English and Maths, as well as being a holder of a recognised Level 2 or 3 Childcare qualification, e.g. Level 3 Diploma for the Children & Young People's Workforce, NVQ Level 3 in Children's Care, Learning and Development.
- Experience of working with Early Years aged children within an educational setting, e.g. school or nursery.
- An understanding of the Early Learning Goals and the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum
- Must have the Right to work in the UK
- Must hold an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or be willing to process one
- Must be able to provide a minimum of 2 professional references to cover the last 2 years
