About the Role:Long Term Futures is looking for a compassionate and proactive Pastoral Assistant to join a large secondary school in Islington, N1. This role focuses on working closely with students requiring additional support, particularly those with behavioural challenges, SEMH, or SEN needs.

The successful candidate will collaborate with teachers and pastoral teams to ensure every child feels supported and encouraged to achieve their best.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with SEMH, SEN, and behavioural challenges, fostering confidence and resilience
  • Assist in developing and implementing individual behaviour plans and pastoral strategies
  • Work closely with staff, students, and families to address barriers to learning
  • Act as a mentor for students, delivering 1:1 and small group interventions
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being, contributing to a supportive school environment

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working in a pastoral or support role, particularly in secondary schools
  • Familiarity with supporting students with SEMH, SEN, and behavioural needs
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to mentoring young people
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with students, staff, and parents
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare

Additional Information:

  • Full-time role, Monday to Friday
  • Paid up to £120 per day, term time only
  • Based in Islington, N1, with excellent public transport links
  • Immediate start, with potential for a long-term placement
