Hours: 08:30-15:30

Location: SE6, South East London

Rate: £95-105 per day

Interview: Paid Trial Days

Remedy is seeking a dedicated and high-performing Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant to support a year 6 child in a leading primary school in South East London. As a Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant we want you to support the academic growth of this pupil whilst improving the mental and social well being of this pupil.

The ideal candidate:

  • Experience working with students with behavioural challenges, preferably in an educational or special education setting.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques, positive reinforcement strategies, and de-escalation methods.
  • Ability to establish rapport and build positive relationships with students, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students and the educational environment.
  • A commitment to inclusivity, diversity, and promoting a positive and supportive learning environment for all students.

We're Looking For:

  • A graduate in Criminology, Psychology, or a related field with a strong interest in youth justice or supporting students with SEMH needs.
  • While prior experience is beneficial, full training and support will be provided.
  • Previous experience working as a Behaviour Mentor, Teaching Assistant, or in a similar role.
  • Key understanding of behaviour management techniques and positive behaviour support.
  • A relevant qualification in education, psychology, or a related field (Not Mandatory).
