Are you passionate about supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?
A vibrant and inclusive Primary & Secondary School in Redbridge, in partnership with Remedy Education, is looking for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with resilience, compassion, and a strong desire to help students overcome barriers to learning.
Why This Role?
- Work across both primary and secondary age groups, giving you a varied and rewarding experience.
- Join a supportive and specialist team, including teachers, SENCOs, and therapists, all dedicated to student success.
- Be part of a nurturing school that prioritises mental well-being and personal growth as much as academic achievement.
- Gain valuable experience working in both mainstream classrooms and a specialist provision, "The Station," which provides tailored emotional and social support.
Your Role as an SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH and additional learning needs.
- Assist in the classroom and specialist provision, offering personalised strategies to help students manage their emotions and behaviours.
- Support students in developing essential life skills such as cooking, travel training, and social interactions.
- Help create a safe and structured learning environment where students feel valued and understood.
- Work closely with teachers and SEN staff to implement tailored learning plans and behaviour strategies.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience working with children and young people with SEMH needs, either in a school, care, or support setting.
- A calm, confident, and resilient approach to supporting students with challenging behaviour.
- A passion for making a difference and helping students build confidence, independence, and self-esteem.
- The ability to adapt to different age groups, from primary to secondary students.
- Relevant Childcare Training or Equivalent Qualifications is desirable but not essential.
What's in It for You?
- Competitive daily rates (PAYE) - based on experience and qualifications.
- Guaranteed pay scheme (subject to availability).
- Ongoing professional development and CPD training to help you progress in your career.
- Dedicated support from an experienced consultant at Remedy Education.
- The chance to gain experience in both primary and secondary education, expanding your skills and opportunities.
- Pension contributions for long-term financial security.
