SANZA Teaching Agency is currently working with a traditional one-form entry primary school based in the borough of Wandsworth, who are currently looking for an ambitious and forward-thinking SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team. This position is due to start in September 2024 and on full-time basis until the end of the academic year with the opportunity to secure a permanent contract from September 2025. The position of SEND Teaching Assistant is paying a daily rate of £90.00 to £105.00 per day.

As an SEND Teaching Assistant in this school your role will be quite dynamic and mixed. The role is an all-rounder type of role where you will work in a reception class and support the teacher by helping supervise students in the classroom, work with children on an individual, small group or whole class basis. The role is not specifically one to one however you will support children with SEND as part of the role. You will be required to ensure students are making regular progress and promote positive behaviour.

To be shortlisted for this SEND Teaching Assistant role, you will need to have

  • A university degree in English, Maths, Drama or History (optional)
  • Good organisation skills
  • Exceptional literacy and numeracy skills
  • Patient with a sense of humour
  • Confident in working independently or in a group setting
  • Enjoy working with students and aspire to be a primary teacher
