SEND Teaching Assistant - Lambeth

Are you a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are currently seeking a compassionate and proactive SEND Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic school in Lambeth.

Role Overview:

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will provide essential support to pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored learning strategies, ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups to aid their academic and personal development.
  • Assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons.
  • Implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and adapting resources to meet students' needs.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and social interaction within the classroom.
  • Providing emotional and pastoral support to students when needed.
  • Collaborating with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support pupil progress.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children with SEND in a school or similar setting.
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to supporting students.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
