We're seeking exceptional SEND Teaching Assistants in Southwark, London, who have experience supporting students with special educational needs. If you are enthusiastic, hands-on, and passionate about working with students with autism, ADHD, PMLD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and behavioral challenges, this role could be a great fit for you. The school values strong support staff who can assist students with both learning and personal care, while helping to foster an inclusive, supportive environment.

Requirements:

  • Genuine passion, enthusiasm, and dedication to working within SEND education settings
  • Proactive approach and a commitment to engaging with students and staff
  • Experience or a strong understanding of supporting students with SEND, including autism, PMLD, or other disabilities
  • Background in education or care, supporting either children or adults
  • Ability to contribute meaningfully to students' learning journeys

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEND
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and staff to implement personalized learning plans
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Assist with classroom activities, personal care (if needed), and behavior management
  • Employ creative, adaptive strategies to help students reach their learning goals
