Teaching Assistant / Mentor - Hammersmith

We are recruiting Teaching Assistants to work within a fantastic mainstream secondary School, located in the Hammersmith area. The school believe in making the system work for each individual child instead of forcing a child into a system that does not work for them. In 2019, they made history as the first Alternative Provision to achieve an 'Outstanding' rating under the new Ofsted framework-an affirmation of our commitment to excellence.

This will be a full time role, from Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:00pm. As a Teaching Assistant, you will need to be confident in supporting children as well as the class teacher. You will be expected to work confidently around pupils aged between 11-16yrs of age.

The Role:

  • Support a child with their learning and development as a Teaching Assistant
  • As a Teaching Assistant you will contribute to creating a safe, supportive & engaging learning environment
  • Build a close bond with the child to ensure they feel comfortable both inside & outside the classroom
  • Communicate closely with colleagues to ensure the progress of students is prioritised as a Teaching Assistant

Requirements:

  • Available Immediately, Mon-Fri 8:30-4
  • MUST have a CHILD ONLY DBS or willing to get one
  • Have experience with children in some capacity whereby you can provide a reference
  • Live local to Hammersmith or within a commutable distance
