We are looking for an outstanding Teaching Assistant - ASD to join one of our leading schools in Greenwich, South East London. As a Teaching Assistant - ASD you will be providing a fostering and positive approach to teaching. You will be managing behaviour and adhering to safeguarding principles. For this role you will be supporting a year 6 classroom, some students can be quite challenging, but this is your chance to showcase your skills and behaviour management abilities.

You will collaborate with the classroom teacher and other professionals to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for the student.

Teaching Assistant ASD | The ideal candidate:

  • Experience working with students with behavioural challenges, preferably in an educational or special education setting.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques, positive reinforcement strategies, and de-escalation methods.
  • Ability to establish rapport and build positive relationships with students, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.

Teaching Assistant ASD | Requirements:

  • Experience working either with ASD, ADHD or SEMH
  • Safeguarding experience
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate (preferably on the update service)
