Are you passionate about supporting children with autism to thrive in their education? We are looking for a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team and work closely with a child with autism at our friendly one-form entry primary school in Kilburn Park.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one support for a child with autism, focusing on their behaviour, learning, and emotional development.
  • Implement tailored strategies to support the child's individual needs, as advised by the SENCO and external professionals.
  • Create a positive and structured environment to foster the child's growth and independence.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and other staff members to ensure the child's integration and success within the classroom setting.
  • Monitor and record progress, ensuring clear communication with teachers and parents.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of autism and strategies for supporting children with autism in an educational setting.
  • Prior experience working with children with autism or other special educational needs is essential.
  • A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or psychology is desirable but not mandatory.
Ideal Candidate Will:
  • Be patient, empathetic, and passionate about making a difference in a child's life.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with the child, colleagues, and parents.
