SEN Teching assistant

Tempest Education are looking for a fantastic SEN teaching assistant to work at one of our partner schools in Herne Hill, Lambeth

The school is lovely primary school based, with an Ofsted rating of "good".

The school are looking for an experienced SEN Teaching assistant for the reception class to work with 3 children with complex needs. There will be a class teacher and a nursery nurse in the class. The children have high needs such as pre-verbal, ASD and diabetes. Previous experience working with children with high needs is essential.

This is a full-time role that will start ASAP until the end of the academic year. Daily hours will be 8:30am - 4:00pm.

Daily rate can vary from £87 - £105 depends on experience.

You must have a strong desire and commitment to working with children with SEN. The ideal candidate will have training with severe needs and medical needs, there will also be elements of personal care within this role.

You must have a Clear DBS on the update service - At Tempest, we can help you apply for one.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 support to SEN children in a reception class.
  • Ensuring progress of children in tracked and reported to class teacher and SLT.
  • General classroom duties as required by the class teacher
  • Ensuring rules and guidelines specific to the school are followed.
  • Working collaboratively with staff and SLT.
