Horizon Teachers are excited to present an opportunity to work in an Ofsted Outstanding' primary school. The school in question is looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with the ability to work closely on a 1:1 basis with a child that has learning difficulties, situated in a mainstream KS2 classroom. The school is looking for an accomplished and knowledgeable SEN TA to help the child achieve their potential and establish a strong base to carry them forward in their learning.The school believes that all children at their school are entitled to a level of education which will allow them to achieve their maximum potential. The school, therefore, feels that children with Special Educational Needs should be in the classroom with the other children, but that they should have additional support focused on their individual needs to help them excel in their education. The school is centred on building curiosity and nurturing young minds to develop critical thinking skills required for later life. Who they're looking for:
  • Someone with a high level of experience working with children that have Special Educational Needs.
  • An individual who has good knowledge of SEN and can understand the complex needs of different children.
  • Someone who has the ability to effectively communicate with children, establish relationships with SEND children, and de-escalate situations unfolding in a school environment.
What will I be doing?
  • You will help the child with their tasks and class activities.
  • Helping the child develop their functional skills.
  • You will help to provide a stable familiar relationship with school, one which allows them to feel comfortable and willing to learn.
