The Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a special needs school in Wandsworth starting after half term. In this role, you will support students aged 11-19 with complex autism, sensory and communication needs, and behaviours that challenge. This dynamic and expanding school focuses on a highly person-centred approach, helping students maximise their independence and achieve their aspirations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to students with severe learning difficulties and autism spectrum conditions.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of individualised learning plans.
  • Help manage and support challenging behaviours in a positive and effective manner.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a special needs school or with students who have similar needs.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting students with special educational needs.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
