Horizon Teachers are looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work in an East London Primary school. They are a dedicated SEN Secondary School situated in the heart of East London, committed to providing exceptional support and education for children with Autism and ADHD. Their passionate team works collaboratively to create a space where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.As a Special Education Needs Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in creating a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere. Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Assisting the classroom teacher in delivering tailored lessons and activities for students with Autism and ADHD.
  • Providing one-on-one and small group support to students to enhance their learning experiences.
  • Building strong relationships with students, understanding their individual needs, and helping them develop essential life skills.
  • Collaborating with the school's multidisciplinary team, including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists.
  • Creating and adapting learning materials to accommodate different learning styles.
  • Monitoring and tracking student progress, providing feedback to the teacher and parents.
