The primary school:

2 form entry primary school located close to local stations with easy transport links across London. Recently rated 'Good' by OFSTED, pupils have overall good behaviour and senior management are both friendly and supportive. You will have the opportunity to work alongside qualified Teachers and other teaching assistants, this primary school is also able to offer on the job and afterschool training programmes and workshops to further career development.

The role:

As the successful teaching assistant your role will be to support the class teacher within the classroom. You will assist the teacher with lesson preparation, behaviour management, working with small groups to improve general understanding of lessons and activities. This role will be mainly within the early years so you could be supporting in the nursery or within the reception class. You will have opportunities to plan and deliver your own activities throughout the day, assist with lunchtime activities and after school clubs. This role will also include supporting children within the classroom with SEN (special educational needs).

About you:

To be successful for this teaching assistant role, you will need a relevant child related qualification or a minimum of 3 months child-based experience. This primary school is looking for someone with a passion to support children in the early years of their education and a team player attitude. You will need to be compassionate, understanding, proactive and patient as a teaching assistant.
