SEN Teaching Assistant - Secondary School - Chingford, London

Are you passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you have experience working in a secondary school setting, helping students with learning difficulties thrive in their academic journey? LTF Recruitment is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in Chingford.

In this role, you will provide 1:1 and small group support to students with a range of SEN needs. You will work closely with teachers and the SENCo to ensure that students have access to the curriculum and that their individual needs are being met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer 1:1 support and small group assistance to students with SEN
  • Collaborate with teachers and SENCo to create and implement personalised learning plans
  • Support students both academically and emotionally, ensuring they are fully engaged in lessons
  • Help students develop social skills and promote independence
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff
  • Assist with classroom management and ensure students are in a safe, positive learning environment

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience supporting students with SEN, ideally in a secondary school setting
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting students with diverse needs
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and parents to ensure the best outcomes for students
  • Experience working with students with ASD, ADHD, or learning difficulties is desirable

Additional Information:

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday
  • Paid £95 - £110 per day, term time only
  • Based in Chingford, London - excellent transport links
  • Immediate start with potential for a long-term role
