Teaching Assistant - Secondary School - Westminster, London

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you have experience supporting students in a secondary school setting? LTF Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Westminster, London.

This role involves working closely with students across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4), providing 1:1 and small group support to help them overcome challenges related to SEN. You will collaborate with the SENCo and classroom teachers to ensure that each student receives the tailored support they need to succeed academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and group support to students with SEN in a secondary school environment
  • Assist in implementing personalised learning plans to ensure students with SEN are fully engaged and progressing
  • Support students in managing their academic, social, and emotional needs
  • Work closely with teachers, the SENCo, and other support staff to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and adapting support where necessary
  • Help students develop their independence and confidence within the school setting

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience supporting students with SEN in a secondary school setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to working with students with diverse needs
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teaching staff and contribute to the overall support of students

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience working with students with ASD, ADHD, or other learning difficulties
  • Knowledge of specific SEN strategies and approaches

Additional Information:

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday
  • Pay £95 - £105 per day, term time only
  • Based in Westminster, London - excellent transport links
  • Immediate start for a long-term role
