We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant primary school in Merton. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in supporting students' educational development in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging and interactive lessons.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support, helping pupils to stay focused and make progress in their learning.
  • Assist with behaviour management, promoting positive behaviour and helping to create a productive classroom atmosphere.
  • Help prepare and organise classroom resources, ensuring that materials are accessible and ready for use.
  • Supervise pupils during lessons, breaks, and school activities, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times.
  • Support children with special educational needs (SEN) by adapting teaching strategies and providing personalised assistance.
  • Regularly communicate with parents, teachers, and staff to monitor and report on pupil progress.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children in a classroom or educational setting is beneficial, though not essential.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with both children and adults.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young learners in their education.
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and ensuring the welfare of all pupils.
