Teaching Assistant Needed - Long Term Role - Camden Borough - Year 1

A primary school based in the Borough of Camden is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for a long-term role to support a young boy in Year 1 with Autism (ASD). The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with ASD and be patient, understanding, and proactive in providing the necessary support, including daily personal care.

Key Responsibilities for the Teaching Assistant:

• Teaching assistant to provide 1:1 support for the ASD boy in Year 1, ensuring his academic, social, and emotional needs are met.
• Teaching assistant to assist with personal care and other daily routines as required.
• Teaching assistant to work closely with the class teacher to adapt learning activities and create an inclusive classroom environment.
• Implement behaviour management strategies to ensure a calm and supportive learning atmosphere.

Requirements for the Teaching Assistant:

• Experience working with children with Autism (ASD) is essential.
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to handle personal care duties.
• Confidence in managing challenging behaviours in a positive and effective manner.
