SEND Teaching Assistants

Lambeth Borough

January 2025

Long Term & Daily Supply staff needed

Salary: £85 - £100 per day (depending on experience)

Timeplan is currently working with several large SEND schools in Lambeth, who are recruiting SEND Teaching Assistants to start ASAP. They are looking for full and part time staff. Part time staff will work on an ad-hoc basis, however long-term staff will work full time Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8.15am - 4pm, with all positions via the agency on timesheets. The schools are keen to recruit full time staff from a temporary to permanent contract.

The schools cater for students aged 2-19 with an EHCP for PMLD, SLD, ASD and complex needs. They have a strong academic focus; however, they also wish to develop student's independence in a fun and nurturing way.

Shortlisted candidates will ideally have previous SEND experience, especially with Autism, PMLD, complex needs and challenging behaviour. You will be working in a class of 4-6 pupils providing 1:1 support. Classes are generally formed based on ability. Many students across the schools are non-verbal, therefore working knowledge of PECs and Makaton are desirable. There will also be personal care involved, so in date manual handling, tracheostomy and PEG feeding training is advantageous.

Successful applicants are caring, calm and pro-active with a keen interest in SEND.

For the right person, the school will offer excellent pay rates and a state-of-the-art working environment.

If you are looking for a rewarding role in SEND and want to make difference, we want to hear from you!
