Key Responsibilities for the Teaching Assistant:- Offer tailored 1:1 support to a Year 4 pupil with Autism, ensuring their individual needs are met.
- Assist with managing challenging behaviours, promoting emotional regulation and engagement.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SEN team to deliver effective strategies for learning and development.
- Encourage the pupil's participation in classroom activities and foster a positive learning environment.
- Build a trusting relationship with the pupil to boost confidence and independence.
- Proven experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly supporting pupils with Autism or behavioural needs.
- Confidence in handling challenging behaviours while maintaining a calm and supportive demeanor.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with staff and families.
- A patient, empathetic approach to understanding and meeting the needs of the child.
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one through the agency.
