A primary school in North London is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a non-verbal Year 6 pupil. This Teaching Assistant role is an incredible opportunity for someone with SEN experience, particularly working with non-verbal children, to make a real difference.
Key Responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant:- Offer 1:1 tailored support to a non-verbal Year 6 pupil, helping them engage with learning.
- Use alternative communication methods to support the pupil's development.
- Work closely with the SENCO and class teacher to implement effective learning strategies.
- Create a structured and nurturing environment to promote confidence and independence.
- Experience as a Teaching Assistant, particularly working with SEN and non-verbal pupils.
- Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, or other alternative communication methods is desirable.
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to support learning.
- A valid Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
- Immediate ASAP start, with trial days available through Reeson Education.
