We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive mainstream secondary school in Southwark. This is a long-term role running until the end of the academic year, offering a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable school-based experience.
Key Responsibilities:- Supporting students in the classroom, both in groups and on a one-to-one basis
- Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom management
- Helping students with special educational needs or learning difficulties to access the curriculum
- Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in lessons
- Providing academic and emotional support to students as needed
- Previous experience working with children in an educational, mentoring, or support capacity
- A valid DBS on the Update Service
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient and proactive approach to supporting students' learning
- Ability to work well as part of a team
