About the role - Teaching assistant

I am currently working with this secondary school based in Newham who are looking for an experienced teaching assistant who is confident and comfortable working 1:1 with a secondary aged student that has Autism. The ideal teaching assistant will be caring, dedicated and committed; confident in supporting the child’s needs. The successful Teaching Assistant will be able to build rapport well and become an excellent role model.

About the school - Teaching Assistant

This oversubscribed, good mainstream secondary school based in the heart of Newham cater to students between the ages 11 and 16 with a SLCN and ASD unit in place to support students with SEN needs. The school have a reputation for looking after staff where a number of schemes in place to support a better work life balance, the school support each member of staff with a lower than average teaching loads where each teacher is treated as a specialist therefore isn’t required to teach cover lessons outside of their subject specialisms. Each teacher is given efficient time to do their job properly including co-planning sessions throughout the week to make planning and marking more time efficient allowing teacher to focus on other aspects on teaching and learning.
