SEN Teaching Assistant - 1:1 Support - Primary School - Haringey - ASAP Start After Easter

A fantastic primary school in Haringey is seeking two experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to provide 1:1 support for pupils with behavioural and communication needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in a child's learning journey.

Role 1: SEN Teaching Assistant - Year 1 (Non-Verbal, Behavioural Needs)
  • Provide 1:1 support to a non-verbal Year 1 pupil with behavioural challenges.

  • Assist with communication strategies, using PECS and Makaton (training can be provided).

  • Implement behaviour management strategies to support engagement.

  • Work closely with SENCO, teachers, and external professionals.

  • Offer a nurturing and structured learning environment.

Role 2: SEN Teaching Assistant - Year 3 (Behavioural Needs)
  • Provide 1:1 support to a Year 3 pupil with behavioural difficulties.

  • Implement individual learning strategies to encourage participation.

  • Foster emotional and social development through positive reinforcement.

  • Support the pupil both in and out of the classroom.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers and SEN professionals.

Candidate Requirements:
  • Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant in a primary school.

  • Experience working with children with behavioural needs.

  • Strong understanding of SEN strategies and interventions.

  • Patience, resilience, and excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
